When my stylist for the film, Mickey Contractor, told me that I would be sporting red hair in the film, I thought he had lost it. I couldn’t imagine walking up to my dad and telling him that I had to dye my hair red. But when my dad saw me with the new hairdo, he just freaked out. He didn’t speak to me for three days! I love my dark long hair but later I took it as an exciting challenge. I thought this can be a different experience as no other actress has done it before. So I coloured my hair twice in 45 days! I never used to go out and whenever I did, I used to wear a bandana.

Sameer Mishra Wins Spelling Bee

Indian-origin boy Sameer Mishra has won the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Mishra, who resides in Lafayette, Indiana, took home a cash prize of $35,000, while winning more than $5,000 in other prizes.

His winning word was “Guerdon”, which means “something that one has earned or gained”.

The second place went another Indian American 12-year-old Sidharth Chand, a seventh grade student.

Special Google Logo for First Ascent Of Mount Everest

Google has put up a special logo on its homepage to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary’s ascent of Mt Everest.

New Zealander Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay reached the summit of Mount Everest at 11:30 a.m. local time on May 29, 1953 via the South Col Route. At the time, both acknowledged it as a team effort by the whole expedition, but Tenzing revealed a few years later that Hillary had put his foot on the summit first.

‘Gay’ porn pops up on screen: ‘The whole class saw it’

Students in a computer graphic arts class at Armijo High School have reported their instructor was teaching a lesson on Adobe Photoshop Monday when the image that was projected to the screen revealed two men engaged in sex.

Freshman Chris Matthews told KXTV-Television in Sacramento that the teacher was clicking on random files when, “All of a sudden this big image of literally gay porn shows up. And he’s going crazy. Just by that reaction that shows that he didn’t expect it.”

Students report that the image remained on the screen for four or five seconds while the teacher scrambled to remove it.

Sheila Harmon found out about the situation at her son’s high school through a disturbing text message he sent: “Oh yeah. My teacher accidentally brought up his gay porn.”

He said he was “mad and disgusted” with it.

She texted him back, asking who saw the pornographic image. “The whole class saw it. The whole class,” he replied.

Armijo Principal Steven Peters has launched an inquiry.

“We’ll send the information to the district office,” he said.
