Door-to-door salesman arrested for groping woman

CARLSBAD – Police are warning residents to be cautious with door-to-door salesmen after one is alleged to have groped a woman.

The woman fought the man off and he ran away, but he didn’t get far before officers arrested him.

The 23-year-old man went to the woman’s house selling children’s books.

Then the man sexually assaulted the woman by groping her.

Police recommend that residents take these precautions:

Look out a window or peep hole before opening a door, and not open the door to strangers.

Tell solicitors “No, thank you” through the closed door and end the conversation.

If you are approached outside, go in and lock the door.

Watch where the solicitors go and call police if they try to enter your home or do anything suspicious.
