A Bollywood Movie based on Scarlett Keeling

Scarlett Keeling, a 15-year-old girl, was raped and murdered at Goa’s Anjuna beach in February, triggering criticism of the police and highlighting the lack of safety for tourists in India.
The new film, “Rave Party”, will have song and dance sequences on Goa’s pristine beaches, and will include a scene depicting the last few minutes of Keeling’s life when police say she was raped and left to die in the shallow waters.
The director says he has already approached Katrina Kaif to play the protagonist in his film.
Fiona McKeown, Scarlett’s mother, expressed concerns about the project, which she said would make “a mockery” of her daughter’s life.

This is way too soon after the death of this young girl to be even thinking of making a movie. Her mother and family are still torn apart with grief. I wish the people behind the project could be more sensative and respectful, they should be ashamed of themselves.

The director did not need to mention ANYTHING about the poor girl’s life. He or she could’ve just made the movie with the damn scene and just kept his or her mouth shut about the girl. Either way, it’s not like rape scenes are uncommon in Indian movies and neither are rapes in India. What some people won’t do or say to get their name mentioned once in a magazine or website is very little.

It is my dream to write a very sensitive book based on this tragedy. I have been following the story from the very first day.
